Outlook 2002 error on open

When I first open Outlook, I get the following error:
The add-in "C:\winnt\system32\avgxch32.dll" could not be
installed or loaded. This problem may be resolved by using
Detect and Repair....

I tried using the Detect and Repair but all I get is
something like a setup procedure which completes but does
not solve the problem.

I'm using Win2k prof.

Help will be appreciated.
