We just migrated our Exchange server from one machine to another. We
use Outlook 2002 on our office workstations to connect to the Exchange
server. Everything seems to be working fine except that people's
inboxes will spontaneously drop several email messages on occasion. So
someone's inbox may go from having 87 messages to suddenly having 53.
I haven't been able to pinpoint the cause. The problem is fixed by
stopping and restarting Outlook, and then the missing messages
reappear. But this happens several times a day and we need to find a
solution to it.
I have seen KB296622 and the related articles but they don't help. The
Outlook configurations are already set to deliver to the Exchange
mailboxes and not to .pst files.
