Outlook 2002 -- messages stuck in Outbox

M

Mark H.

Hi,

I'm having this problem again, where I have a msg stuck in the Outbox, and I
can't delete it, move it or continue to send it.

The error message says 'Unknown error 0x800406C'. I choose 'Cancel All', bit
it makes no difference.

When I try to delete, I get: "The messaging interface has returned an
unknown error. if the problem persists, restart Outlook." (I did, but it made
no difference.)

When I try to move the message(s), it says: "Can't move the items."

Thanks!

How big is the .pst file? 2GB (1.87GiB) is the max.

Hi Mark:

You may want to run the Inbox Repair Tool against your pst file. It
shouldn't take very long, but it will identify errors in the pst database
and attempt to fix them. You have a know problem, and I've seen the repair
tool work other times to fix a problem just like yours. Search the
Microsoft Office folder in Program Files for a file called "scanpst.exe" and
run it. Make sure Outlook is closed beforehand. It will make a backup copy
of the pst file before attempting to fix it, so you don't have anything to
lose but a little time.
