Outlook 2002 not saving Pop3 settings

S

Scott

Using Outlook 2002 as my Pop3 client accessing Comcast.
Outlook doesn't save my Pop3 settings. If I close Outlook
and then re-open Outlook and try to retrieve mail, my Pop3
server settings reverts to localhost and my login
information changes as well. I have applied all service
packs and updates. Running on Windows XP Pro, fully
patched. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Scott

If you have a firewall or antivirus set to scan your incoming mail, turn off
the mail scanning. It is changing the login to localhost.

Swen virus, all e-mails sent to my actual account will be deleted w/out
reading.

....my personal preference is to not disable mail scanning, as it is nice to
have more than one level of security, but instead to ask the AV vendor if
they have a newer version that scans mail in a more reliable fashion - or
change to another AV product.

I don't know about the latest version of PCCillin, a product that is known
to do this, but I know that only old versions of Norton/McAfee did this.
