I am having a problem with Outlook 2002 whereby it is not showing an
associations for Word (.doc extension) attachments. It uses a generic
windows icon for the atttachment and double clicking on the attachment opens
the dialog box for associating a program with an extension.
Clicking Word from here opens it on that one attachment, but using the
"Always use this..." button DOES NOT make the selection permanent, and thing
is Windows 2000 itself, which is running on this machine, DOES know that
..doc extension indicates a Word file and has such as an active association
with the Word icon showing for any such files in various folders.
So why is Outlook having the problem and how can it be fixed?
