Outlook 2002 Preview Pane

Does the preview pane open the message that is in the
preview pane? Concern about opeining a message that may
have some type of virus.

Be very concerned. Yes the preview pane is the same as opening it. I suggest
turn off the preview.

No, you don't have to turn it off. From the Inbox, go to
Tools, Options, Other tab & click on Preview Pane button
and remove the first 2 check marks. This will leave your
message as unread.
