Outlook 2002 pulls down e-mail multiple times from POP Account

Yes I do have Outlook configured to leave the messages on the POP server for
a few days so can also pull down from the road, but why is Outlook pulling
down duplicates

Duplicates are pulled down a couple of hours to several days later

Problem started, or got much worse, after had been using Outlook for
several years (not an initial configuration problem)

Problem started in early fall, about the time:

1) Bellsouth did major revision on their server and control panels

2) Installed Upgrades to Windows XP (and maybe Office XP?)

If yo do not know answer, any suggestions on where to look for it?

Thanks

Are you getting *all* messages left on the server re-downloaded, or just
some of them?

I am getting multiple copies of all emails.

Sorry for the delay... How many email accounts do you have? Just one, or
multiple POP3 accounts?

3) Upgraded from Norton 2004 to Norton 2005 Anti-Virus.

Do you have Norton scanning incoming mail? If so, turn that off (which,
based on may posts to this group, you'll apparently have to do by
uninstalling it and then reinstalling without the email scanning option).
There's anecdotal evidence that various anti-virus/anti-spam products cause
this problem in Outlook. Could you post back with your results? I'm
trying to get a feel for whether this really is the problem...
