Outlook 2002 questions

Hello, on starting Outlook 2002, I would like Outlook to automatically dial
a connection, and send/receive immediately - but I would prefer it not to
perform a background send/receive every x minutes. Is it possible to do all
this?

It is the setting of a send/receive interval that causes Outlook to send on
startup, so they're linked and can't be separated.
