Outlook 2002 reinstall problem

Mike

I uninstalled Office 2003 and installed Office XP Pro. I was able to use the
..pst file from my Outlook express on my laptop and transfer accounts,
contacts msgs etc. However I am unable to send/receive. I can test it in the
email setup just fine but when I click the send/receive button I get "Could
not open the item. Try again" I have deinstalled, reinstalled, changed
profiles and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

If you're using either Vista or Windows 7, Outlook 2002 won't work properly.

No you weren't. Outlook Express doesn't use PSTs.

If the PST you're trying to access was created with Outlook 2003, Outlook 2002
cannot use it. If it's an Outlook 2002 PST, then if what you describe were
happening to me, I'd start with a clean mail profile (not a copy) and
completely configure it using the Mail applet in Control Panel by adding the
PST and the account(s) to the profile before I ever start Outlook.
