Outlook 2002 Sending multiple emails

Whnever I send a file with an attachment, I get a quick message that my ISP server timed out and the email remians in my outbox as if it had not been sent. However the list of email recipients will get over 50 copies of the email. And it still indicates it is in my outbox. This does not occur with emails without attachments. I have run the latest McAfee Virus Scan and it detects nothing. Has my Outlook program become corrupted or any suggestions of what to do.
