We have a Windows native-mode AD network with two
Exchange servers. One is Exchange 2000 and the other
Exchange 2003. Users have Windows XP Pro. All users
known to have the following problem have mailbox on the
Exchange 2000 server.
I have several users with the following problem:
The user attempts to write a new message and address
someone else on the local network with a local mailbox.
Let's the person they are sending their message to is
Jane Doe.
Our internal addressing scheme = First Initial + Last Name
example: jdoe
When the user types "jdoe" into the TO: field and then
hits TAB or ENTER, the username is resolve twice. For
example, the user types "jdoe" and hits tab and it
results in
TO: Doe, Jane; Doe, Jane
Jane Doe is listed within the public address book but not
the user's personal address though the user has emailed
Jane Doe at Jane's personal home email address on a few
occasions. However, looking at the properties of the two
entries show that its resolving to the same email
address. Finally, this is not happening for everyone on
the network that the user is attempting to email. It
only occurs for a few different people that she attempts
to send email to.
