Outlook 2002 Sorting email by read/unread

I would like to sort my messages by whether they are marked as read/unread.
I have tried the icon sort, but that only divides them by replied/non-replied
for me (although I seem to recall it used to do it by read/unread). Is there
a way to do this simply?

display the Advanced Toolbar and you will find the option for unread
messages.

Thanks Bill for your reply and that very nicely selects them all, but I
actually would prefer if possible not to filter them, but rather to sort
them, is this possible?

I don't think you can. Search folders in Outlook 2003 give the same sort of
benefit.
