Outlook 2002 SP3 - Advanced Find Doesnt Work?

I'm trying to sort messages based on their year, and finding
that Advanced Find doesnt' appear to work. Googling has revealed
other people stating the same problem with this version. Can
anyone tell me was this issue resolved, either in 2002 or a later
version of Outlook?
