Outlook 2002 timing out

I recently upgraded from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2002, and
now when I try to send an attachment, I get an error
message that it timed out while communicating with SMTP
server. The message stays in the Outbox, but it is
received by the person I sent it to.

Is there a setting somewhere that would differ from those
that were in Outlook 200o? Nothing else has changed.
