One way.
In Windows Explorer {on the drive you installed Office XP} go to the folder
Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10. Right click on the file
Outlook.exe and select Send To, Desktop as Shortcut. Move the shortcut to a
spot on your desktop where it will not be covered the Programs list.
In Start, Programs find the folder Startup {or Start} then drag and drop
your Outlook shortcut to that folder.
Of course there are other ways.
