OUTLOOK 2002 - unable to send mail

Unable to send mail from outlook 2002:
I initially had a message "Connection to the server was
interrupted-Ox800CCCOF". I found the answer to that on
the microsoft website. I followed the advice, and now
have a new message: "Unable to logon to the outgoing
mail server (SMTP)"
I cannot find an answer to that one. Any help would be
much appreciated!
