Outlook 2002 Virus Problem

I have my Outlook set to only let me decide when to send/recieve manually.

However, when it is idle and I have not got any messages to send, it starts
sending messages out that I do not know who - what - or - where they are
being sent to.

I have Norton Anti-Virus and it checks the mail going out but it has not
detected any virus in the software of Outlook.

Any suggestions?
