Outlook 2002 Window XP Proff or Windows Office 2003

As some of you may have read I'm having trouble with my Outlook 2002 and
Windows XP Word 2002. (Word as E-mail editor not available, cant open e-mail
envelope in Word or Excel etc,...)

What is the difference between Window XP and Windows Office 2003. Is there
any point in me activate the trial verson of Microsoft Office 2003 that came
intalled but not activated on my new Lap top to see if it's better than
working with Windows XP Proff .

The two are completely different apps
WindowsXP is the operating system
Office2003 is a suite of Office apps

DL,

Can the fact that the new computer (Dec this year.) came with Offcie 2003
installed but not activated be affecting the Outlook Word Excel problems I
have refered to when trying to use Word 2002 as my e-mail editor: "This form
needs Word etc." I understand Office 2003 is in the registery so if I remove
Office 2003 do you think this will solve the Outlook Word conflict..s..s? If
so, is it in add remove in the control panel?

Point taken on the new thead...

If point taken on the new thread why don't you continue there or at least
answer the open questions? Otherwise we're just starting all over again...

If the computer came with Office 2003 preinstalled and you on't want to use
it uninstall it. After that install the Office version you want to use
instead.

Installing an early version of office, whilst there is allready a later
version installed will likely have corrupted both installations.
You need, at the very least to remove both installations (Add/Remove
dialogue) if you can before, installing your OfficeXp

If however this is a very new PC with little data on it you might find you
would be advised use the recovery disks to put it back to its supplied
state.
Then Remove/Uninstall the trial edition of Office. After which run
winupdate, and only when it appears the sys is functioning correctly install
your apps.
