I have managed to get NEW on the main menu bar on one of my computers. For
some reason I cannot find how to get it so on the others. I forgot and can't
find it.

I send my pst file to my other two computers for backup. On one, everything
is fine. On the other, I can't get the address book tab out of GRAYed in the
properties of the contacts. No matter what I've tried, including
reinstalling, I get messages like the profile has not been properly set up,
etc.

Add the Outlook Address Book service to your profile and you should be able
to check that box.

I must not understand how to do that. I've looked all over. By the way the
word NEW in my first paragraph should be NEWS.

I think I fixed it. I can't tell you how. I just opened a few hundred
windows and filled in some data and then I suddenly had finished the
unfinished profile.

Now, I'd like to be able to populate the windows address book, but it won't
let me do this either.

Is the "Outlook Address Book" service part of your mail profile? In
Outlook, click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing directories or
address books>Next. Do you see "Outlook Address Book"? If not, click Add,
select Additional Address Books, click Next, select Outlook Address Book,
click Next, then Finish. Restart Outlook.

Next, right-click the COntacts folder and choose Properties. Click the
Outlook Address Book tab and enter a check in the "Show this folder as an
e-mail Address book" box. Click OK.
