Outlook 2002

When I access email Outlook asks for a profile to be
selected.

I only have one profile on my PC and have set it as the
default many times both on the screen and in control
pannel/ mail however the system will not hold it as the
default user and keeps prompting.

Any ideas how to fix this issue?

If I were in your shoes, I'd try several things. First, I'd try unchecking
the box, saving the result, and then try starting Outlook again. I'd then
go back and check the box. If that didn't work, I'd create a new profile
and delete the old one to see if that changed things. Finally, I'd look at
the values in the Registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles and see if it shows
more than one profile. After exporting that registry key, I'd delete all
but the profile I want active and see what happens.

In fact, I might consider checking the Registry key first, but I'm a brave
soul.
