Outlook 2003/07 and resolving mailbox name

What is the exact process Outlook uses when resolving mailbox names when
using Exchange 2007?

Does it use LDAP? Does it use port 389 or 3268?
Does it use Offline Address Books?


Some users are having difficulty adding additional mailboxes to their
mailobx and it says: The name could not be resolved. The action could not be
completed.

The users have Full Mailbox permissions to the additional mailboxes, and can
use the Global Address List ok with new mails or the Address book icon ok.

The user can connect to the domain ok and browse it using the LDP.exe tool.

I have tried every conceivable thing to fix the problem including some old
KB articles: 833399 and 183015 with no luck.

Any ideas?
