The address book used to work; now it doesn't.

When I start a new email and click To to add addressees, Outlook now gives
me a window that says "The Contacts folder associated with this address list
could not be opened." If I click OK, a new window, Select Names" opens. The
drop-down on the right is "Show Names from the:" It reads Contacts, but there
are no contacts shown. However, when I drop-down the list of options, there
is a second Contacts option below the first. When I click this second
Contacts, my contacts are displayed. Why are there 2 Contacts files, one
empty, one correct? Why is Outlook suddenly going to this empty Contacts
file? How can I get Outlook to go to the right Contacts file? (BTW, from the
main menu, Contacts displays my contacts .) Thanks for your help. serge
