Outlook 2003 amnesia - Tried everything!!!

S

Hi,

I have just put a new PC together with Win XP SP2 and Office 2003 with
SP1. Outlook will not remember my password when I connect to my
exchange server eventhough I have "Remember password" ticked. I have
tried all the fixes I can find from the news groups and MS Knowledge
base including the fix to delete the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider
sub keys. Nothing works and I have even tried uninstalling Office and
reinstalling again.

What is interesting though is once Outlook is running it doesn't forget
but as soon as I shut it down it forgets when I next start it up.
Please help me to resolve this anoying problem.

Thanks

SurfRat.

I am using a MS exchange account and I have created 2 accounts. One
connects to my work server and the other to Hotmail for HTTP mail. My
Hotmail account works fine.

Cheers

Hi,

Itried the fix you mentioned and the key "ncacn_nb_tcp REG_SZ
Rpcrt4.dll" was missing. I inserted it and rebooted but unfortunately
it did not fix the problem. Any other ideas...

Thanks

Does it work when you create a new mail profile with just your Exchange
account?

I have deleted my profile (there is only one) and started from scratch
with just my Exch Srv account. It still did not work. On my old PC it
works fine and I must admit I am out of ideas.

Thanks

Try logging in with a completely new useraccount on that machine to find out
if it occurs for all users or just you.
