PREFACE: This is the FIRST and ONLY rule that I am trying to create and I
already know there is 32k limit.
I'm trying to have an automatic response go out when emails are received
using Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003's Rules feature. Here's the specific
situation:
Within Outlook 2003, using Rules, I go to setup a new rule starting with a
blank rule, have it check incoming messages for specific words in the subject
or body (only like 10 words total), then check "have server reply using a
specific message", enter the message, and when I go to apply it, I get the
message, "One or more rules could not be uploaded to Exchange server and have
been deactivated. This could be because some of the parameters are not
supported or there is insufficient space to store all of your rules."
Now, before everyone bombards me, I know there is a 32k limit and this is
the only rule that I have. I've never had any others before and there are
definitely not any others now. And like I said above, this is not a complex
rule. Also, Exchange has been configured to allow the auto response messages
to internet addresses.
I've tried setting up the rule with no other criteria except for just "have
server reply" and a real simple message (like two words) and I still get the
same error. I've scoured through the questions here, on Microsoft's KB, and
everywhere else I could look and have not seen anyone else with this problem.
Please help!
