Hello Bill,
After reviewing the post log, I understand this issue is: you want to
remove the Outlook icon from the notification area.
If I have misunderstood your concern please let me know.
Based on the information, Outlook 2003 icon in the sys tray provides the
following functions:
- Show Exchange Server Messages
- Show Network Warnings
- Show Network Connectivity Changes
- Show New Mail Desktop Alert
- Hide when minimized
- Cancel server request
It is a new feature included in Outlook 2003 which provides more convenient
ways to check email and change some settings for Outlook.
If you use Windows XP as your operating system, you can hide the icon as
follows:
1. Right click the mouse on the Taskbar and choose Properties.
2. Check "Hide inactive icons" and click Customize.
3. Choose "Always Hide" for the Outlook 2003 icon.
4. Click OK.
Hope the information is helpful.
Thanks and have a good day!
Regards,
Ada Pan
