Outlook 2003 does not make a comeback

Okay, I just upgraded from XP to 2003 professional
(thanks to the educational discount) and am having
problems with Outlook, now. When I first invoke Outlook
at the beginning of the session, everything works great.
It takes a little longer to open than I'm used to, but no
biggie. I noticed, however, that Microsoft now puts an
Outlook icon in the lower right (where other memory
resident programs are), so that even if I close down
Outlook, that icon is there. Now here's the problem. If
I close down Outlook not the right hand memory resident,
but jsut the main program), and then try to reinvoke
Outlook, I get nothing. No error message, no blue
screen, but most importantly no Outlook. When I try
double clicking on the icon in the lower right, I get the
same effect (nothing). The hourglass pointer might come
up for a few seconds, but nothing. Finally, if I right
click on the Outlook icon in the lower right, it won't
allow me to close it, it just sits there, useless and
without purpose.

Does anybody have any ideas what would make this happen
and what I can do to fix it?

Almost the same...however I don't even get the courtesy
of an error message. Like you, though, Outlook is dead
in the water until I reboot. It works hunky dory until I
close it and try to start it up again.

Sounds like a Microsoft problem to me.
