After recently upgrading to MS Office 2003, I wanted to try
"upgrading" from Outlook Express to Outlook 2003 for email. Much of
this process wasn't intuitive, or even straightforward, and that was a
surprise for such a mature product.
After a little tinkering, though, it's working. Except that emails
are not automatically received at startup (Both Send and Receive do
function at Exit, though). It's not THAT hard to manually
send/receive, but rather than settle for the aggravation, I may just
switch back to OE if I can't resolve the issue.
I notice that others have had the problem, and I notice that Russ
Patterson has helped several find their way through the software
thicket planted by MS. So, Russ, if you're around, or if someone else
can help, here goes...
I have read and followed the instructions provided in MS Q312336. I
saw Q 320836 as well. I also checked to make sure "working offline"
wasn't selected. Under Send/Receive Settings, I currently have NO
boxes checked although most have been tried at some point. Some were
unchecked as per instructions of Q312336. I do not want any online or
offline scheduled checks: they may interfere with audio recording
applications I use.
The OS is XP Home. ISP is Comcast (broadband).
Any suggestions?
Thanks for reading.
