Automatic Send/Receive doesn't work

I have Outlook 2003 at home (broadband conenction) and have been trying to
set up automatick Send/Receive. I am not working offline and I have my email
account set up in the send/receive groups. I have set it to send/receive
automatically every minute. In the bottom right hand corner, every minute it
says that send/receive is complete. However, no emails ever come in. As
soon as I hit the send/receive button emails come in. The automatic
send/receive obviously isn't working properly even though it says it is. Can
anyone help me with this?

And that is the root of your problem. Set the send/receive interval to TEN
minutes. What is happening is that Outlook is starting a new send/receive
cycle before the previous one has got started!

No, I don't believe that is the problem. It doesn't matter how many minutes I
set it at, it doesnt work. Whether that be 1, 2, 5 or more minutes. And if I
look at the details of the Send/Receive it always says it's completed all the
tasks.

Even five minutes may be too short. Try ten.

Ok. I'll give it a go.
When I manually press the button, it completes the send/receive in a matter
of seconds so why would the automatic one be any different?
