Outlook 2003. Email desktop notification not working?

Outlook 2003. Email desktop notification not working? Any experienced this?
New mail sound is working fine but as above, no desktop notification box
arrives....

Any help - much needed and appreciated
Don't mind if email the answers removing the SCISSORS..
