Outlook 2003 emails not being sent - remain in outbox

All account details are set up but emails will not go. I am ensuring the
correct account is chosen to send via.

I have to go into the outbox and "forward" them to the recipient from there.

This leaves to original message which has to then be deleted from the outbox.

I can "send" emails but this is a long process to go through each time.
Can anyone help with what has gone wrong. This has only been happening for
the last few weeks.

Well, the problem you're having is that the server through which you're
trying to send the messages (mail.btopenworld.com) is rejecting your login
- either your username or password is probably wrong.

Are you having these problems with new messages, or only when you reply to
certain messages?

Do you have 2 connections to the network? i.e.: wireless and wired?

I've seen this issue at work where a user has both wireless and wired
connection enabled and either the QoS or Outlook screws up the send process.
Disabling the second connection should resolve this issue.
