Outlook 2003 error 0x800ccc0f can't download e-mail

A day ago, I started having problems iwith downloading e-mail messages into
Outlook 2003. It was working fine for a year prior to this. I am also using
Norton Systemworks Professional 2004. I had deleted Norton Firewall 2004. The
problem persists.

I press send/receive and most of the time get an error message 0x800ccc0f in
the tray and to contact my ISP. My ISP stated that it was Microsoft's problem
and to seek their help.

Occasionally one, two or more messages out of many are downloaded. Other
times none.

YES, I updated Norton Systemworks and Firewall. Some of the updates that
were needed, as far as I remember, were virus definitions, firewall program
update, possibly systemworks update and a few other items

Thanks, I will try this.

BTW -- my PC "fixed itself" on Sunday evening. However my laptop still has
the same problem as of Monday morning. I "updated" both machines with
Norton's live update on Sunday morning and also reinstalled Norton's
Firewall. I still had the problems until Sunday evening when the PC "fixed
itself".
