Outlook 2003 hates the rainbow!!

I'm using Outlook 2003 and for some reason the color of the text that
people are sending me will only display in black. I tried it with Word
2003 as my editor and without it. I've tried HTML, Rich, and Plain
text. Nothing.. The options are there and it will allow me to see the
colors if I reply and l scroll down to the body of said email, but if I
double click to view the message if no workie!! I pondered and then
though, " AHH it mush be the Normal.dot that is corrupted" No dice. I
replaced it with a known good copy to no evail. I could use some
suggestions on this one as I'm at my wits end..

Are the ones sending you mail sending it as plain text or as rich or HTML?
And instead of replacing the normal.dot file you can just delete it and Word
will generate a new one.
