Outlook 2003 inactivity fix for backup?

Hello. We're using TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) to run backups of our
desktops. For folks that leave their Outlook 2003 running, this presents a
problem, as it won't backup an open file.

I figure I have a couple of options:

1. Force TSM to backup open files. Will this lead to a corrupt PST file,
incapable of restoring properly?
2. I know there was a registry key to unlock the PST file after a certain
amount of inactvity. Is there something appropritate for Outlook 2003?
