Outlook 2003 Interface

Outlook 2003 has replaced the standard Outlook bar wth the new split bar,
(favorite folders on top, folder structure in the middel and folder
navigation buttons on the bottom). I'm having a problem with the navigation
buttons. When I click the Mail button it puts the focus in the Outlook Today
folder rather than the Mail folder. I can't seem to find a way to control
these buttons. I would also like to be able to create new folder related
buttons other than the standard folder set. Just can't seem to find info on
how to do it, or even if it's possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can use new Search folders or Favorites but without knowing what you
want to do, it is impossible to advise you about which solution would work
best.

My main objective is to have the "Mail" button do what it is supposed to do.
To put the focus on the "Inbox" rather than the "Outlook Today" folder. A
secondary objective would be to add a button for a folder I've created.

All the mail button (or any other button does, for that matter) is to change
the focus of the "Types" of folders that display. Your main window will
still reflect the last folder you are viewing.

The button enables the menus, but does not change the focus.

As for creating your own button, the navigation buttons are not
customizable.

OK Milly, I get it now. I didn't realize that you don't see the whole folder
structure as in Outlook 2000. Just wan't looking close enough. Much thanks
for the help in clearing this up.
