OUtlook 2003 is not converting HTML

HI EVryone,

My outlook client does not seem to be able to handle convert HTML Emails. By
this i mean when an incoming email is received that contains teh ewuivilant
to a HTM web page in the body, the client displays all teh HTML code rather
then the finished page (making it look liek a web page).

Is this an Oulook client setting (2003) or exchange server setting (2003)?

Can anyone shed any light on this.

Thanks in adavance
Jim

It's a security setting as to prevent malicious HTML code to be executed
automatically and to protect users from spoofed e-mails (that pretend to
be from a trusted recipient but aren't).

Hi Rene,

The interesting thing is that some clients canactually handle the HTML
without any issues. I have compared client config/settings and they are
identical. Is there any reason (registry maybe) that could allow it to be
handling the HTML on some clients and not others?

Well, you can either have Outlook handle this on a case to case basis,
meaning right-click on the header of the e-mail and allow HTML display
certain e-mails, or activate the global setting for it.
Outlook, Tools, Options, E-Mail Options, remove checkmark next to Read all
standard mail in plain text. See pic.

Hi Rene,

Thanks for that info. That option is turned of as part of the default
install i do. Neither i or the user has that options turned on and when we
are both sent the same message it arrives in my mailbox with all the html
conversion done, while it arrives in hers with all the source code showing.
Our mailboxes are both on teh same exchange 2k3 server and take teh same path
(route) to arrive to the mailbox. That is why i am thinking it is something
on the client end.

I have checked her client setup against mine and can not see anythign that
stands out that would be different.

PLease help.

I would disagree. You mention the "ReadAsPlain" setting and it doesn't do
what you describe: display HTML code. The ReadAsPlain setting strips HTML
code and displays only the text that remains. So, I don't believe that what
the OP is seeing is what you describe above.
