Outlook 2003: Links cannot be viewed

Hyperlinks in messasges are not functioning properly.
Instead of taking me to a website, etc., when I click on
a link, a dialog box appears asking me to save the file
as an executable. Any clue on how to get hyperlinks in
Outlook functioning properly? I have already performed
a "repair" from the Office installation CD to no avail.
