Outlook 2003 locks up

Outlook has suddenly started locking up. I removed and reinstalled XP Office Pro twice but the same thing happens every time. When I do ctl-alt-del to 'end task' I notice that the CPU usage is stuck on 100% until I end Outlook. I can't find anything in the Q & A on Microsoft's site. Any thoughts?
