Outlook 2003 - mail not appearing in inbox

Occassionaly outlook says it is recieving e-mail eg 1 of 5, 2 of 5 etc but no
mail appears in the inbox or any other folder. I have no 'rules' applied.
Where does it go?

Check your Junk email folder. If you look in the unread messages Search
Folder you might be able to locate the messages.
