Outlook 2003 - MEMORY HOG! Why?

Just wondering why Outlook 2003 eats an incredible amount of memory (well, incredible for outlook that is). I often see it use 64MB's on users machines.

Why is it using so much more than 2000 or even 2002 did?

OFFICE.EXE is 92KB When I back up Outlook (all folders)
the resulting file is 427,000 KB. That includes 2776
Contacts and thousands of e-mail subscriptions to my
newsletter, plus many files maintained for historical reasons.

Sorry, I didn't read your post correctly. However, when
Outlook is open on my system, it will use a lot of RAM. I
have 512 real and have adequate virtual memory, so haven't
seen it to ba a problem.

It just seems to climb throughout the day which is very annoying for office
workers pulling 10-12 hour days. For instance, mine started out at about
15MB when I started it this morning, it's now up to 50MB

Personally, I would agree with you, but if you worked here, it wouldn't be
an acceptable answer.

I need to know why in outlook 2000 and 2002 this problem didn't exist but
does in 2003.

Also, most of the folks I know in IT are managing desktops that aren't even
up to 1Ghz yet, so saying "50MB is reasonable for modern systems" is well,
not reasonable.
