Outlook 2003 Menu Options Disabled (New, Reply, Options, etc greyed out)

Hi,

I have outlook 2003 pro, and suddenly I cannot send
email, reply, create new emails, modify the options under
tools, etc. Basically there is not a lot I can do.
Has any one experienced a similar situation? and what can
I do about it?
I do not have rights management set on as far as I know,
and I do not connect to an exchange server.
