Outlook 2003 message encoding

Hi

My firewall emails me its logs on a regular basis (as it has done for some
time), however, since installing outlook 2003 the emailed logs seem to have
'lost' the carriage return marker, so instead of each log entry on its own
line, they all just merge into one VERY long line.

A little research has shown that the email is being received with an
encoding of 'US-Ascii', if I manually change this to something else, say
Western European, then the carriage return 'reappears' and everything is ok
for that message. Interstingly, if I now return the encoding to the
original 'US-Ascii' then the carriage returns remain!

Finally, I have just setup outlook express to recieve one of these emails
and they are just fine.

Any idea?

OK, a little more investigation and I have fixed it myself!

Tools, Options, Preferences, E-Mail Options....Uncheck 'Remove extra line

breaks in plain text messages'...

As I recall, in Outlook XP, this 'option' removed extra 'lines' not line

breaks, guess that's why it has never been a problem in the past.
