why doesn't 2003 play a sound when new mail arrives?

You mention that you have it set up in Windows....do you
have it enabled in Outlook? Click Tools, Options,
Preferences, Email Options, Advanced Email Options, and
ensure it is checked under new mail options.

I have the same proplem with no sound for my incoming e-mail for Outlook "03". I also have done the following: Under Outlook Tools, under advanced e-mail options I have click and OK play sound for incoming e-mail. I clicked OK as I closed the rest of the options windows.
If I go to Outlook Express the incoming e-mail sound works.
There must be a bug for Outlook "03"
Any suggestions????
