Outlook 2003 not sending email

I have win xp (sp2) and outlook 2003 as part of the complete office 2003
installed. I am having trouble sending email. It store the email in the
outbox with 'no date' against it. I know that when you click on send it
changes to italics and then sends at the next stage but at present it is
doing nothing. I another person recified it by unchecking the add-ins
option, but I have no add ins selected. Any one have any ideas (I finally
sent the email without any trouble through outlook express, but I want to
use outlook 2003)

Make sure your settings in "Send Recieve" are set to "Send on This
Account"... go to:
Tools_Options_Mail Setup_Send/Recieve_ (hi-lite the account you are
using)_Edit_then hi-lite your name/account and check the 'Send on this
Account' box... hope this helps.

Thanks Richard,

There is only one account as I am the only user - it is set as all accounts.
I've tried a number of suggested solutions but so far no luck. I'll keep
trying but in the meantime I've reverted back to Outlook Express.
