Outlook 2003 - Office Outlook Connector

Rekab13

Today I received an e-mail from Windows Live concerning the installation of
Office Outlook Connector. After downloading, installing and executing the
program I have extra entries in my Navigation Pane which are dupilcates of
the account which were updated. These entries are corrupt and when I click
on one of them I get the following message.

This error usually appears if the OST or PST file you are using is:

Unavailable
Protected with file permissions
On a share on a server and the network is down
Corrupt

To correct this problem, store the OST or PST file on the local computer.
You may also want to run the scanost.exe and scanpst.exe tools to verify
file
integrity.

I have tried both Scanost.exe and Scanpst.exe to no avail. Also, there
appears to be no connected e-mail accounts nor pst files for these entries.

Any assistance in removing these entries from the Navigation Pane would be
greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your response:

I have three pop account and 2 hotmail account in my profile. I am storing
the PST files where Outlook created them. I have rebooted. As for creating
a new profile, I have not as of yet (also not certain how).

Basically the Navigation Pane looks like this:

+ personal folders - working fine
+ archive folders - working fine
- Rekab13 (Hotmail) - errors if selected
+ Rekab13 (Hotmail) - working fine
+ Shadowmind13 (Hotmail) - working fine
- Shadowmind13 (Hotmail) - errors if selected

What accounts do you have in your profile? Are you storing the OST or PST
files where outlook created them?

Did you reboot? Try a new profile?

This usually means the profile is corrupt - but you can try one of the apps
at the end of this page: http://outlook-tips.net/howto/ghosts.htm to try and
fix it, otherwise, make a new profile.

Once again thank you for your assistance! The article on Deleting Ghost PST
files (http://outlook-tips.net/howto/ghosts.htm) did the trick.
