Outlook 2003 Out of Memory error encountered while loading PSTs

Greetings,

I've ran across a serious stumper. I'm assisting a client with migrating
data from an old laptop to a new laptop, and part of the migration involves
moving 48 Outlook 2003 PST files onto the new deck and into the profile. The
old system only had 1GB of system memory and a Core Solo CPU (Dell Lattitude
D4xx series), and the user could load all 48 PSTs into her Mail sidebar
without issue or incident. Her new system is a Dell E-Series with 4GB of
memory on XP Pro 32bit w/SP3, and I receive an "out of memory" error when I
try to load all 48 PST files on the new system.

Both systems have the same core software image, and the user has over half
of her system memory available for program use; I even modified the page file
to accomodate the larger memory configuration to rule out that possibility.
What am I possibly missing in my methodology? (We are using Exchange 2007 in
this environment, and none of the PSTs are >2GB.)
