Outlook 2003/Outlook Express 6

I am new to this discussion group thing so I apologize in advance for my
ignorance.

When I worked for my previous employer, someone in the IT department
configured it so that I was able to open Outlook on my desktop computer at
home and access my inbox, deleted items, sent items, my calendar, etc.. just
like I was on my desktop at work. I was NOT using Webmail, but somehow the
Outlook at home could login to my server at work (or something like that).

I am trying to set up the same configuration with my new employer. However,
this time I am using Outlook Express instead of Outlook (unfortunately since
that is what my employer uses). I now have it working so that I can view new
emails that come in, but when I view them at home they download so that when
I get to work I cannot see them anymore and vice versa.

I would like to set up a configuration that achieves what I described in the
first paragraph. Thanks for any guidance you can give me.
