Outlook 2003 .pst files

S

Stuart

Hi, I have two personal folders as data files in an
Outlook 2003 installation. However, only one of the
personal folders is listed in the data files in either
outlook or mail section of the control panel. I need to
remove the data file that is not showing, or completely
reconfigure my outlook installation.
I have checked both dat files for errors.
Any ideas please.

You mean you've got 2 physical pst-files and you only want to show 1 in
Outlook and it currently does this already? Then delete the second pst-file
if you're sure you don't want it anymore.

Thanks for the response.

Yes I do have two pst files, both showing in outlook as
personal folders.

However, only one of the is listed in the outlook
configuration either through the mail section of the
control panel or the email accounts wizard within outlook
itself.

Therefore I can not remove it from outlook.

If I rename or delete the pst file I don't want, it still
shows in outlook, but cannot expand it as it does not
exist.

It may appear to be only a cosmetic problem. However, the
pst file in question was continually having to be
repaired, so I moved the contents to the new pst file,
changed to delivery location to the new file, but can not
delete the old one for the reasons given.

Any ideas please. Thanks.

Alright, then somewhere in the process you've corrupted your mail profile.

Create a new profile (do not copy it);
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles

To access your current pst-file in the new profile;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

To set it as the default delivery location;
Tools-> E-mail Accounts...-> button Next-> use the dropdownlist below
