In Outlook Express there was a rule "Do not download from server". There
does not appear to be the same capability in Outlook 2003. Soed anyone know
any better?

Outlook, being a part of Office and not Internet Explorer, has no way of
interacting with this command.

Thanks for the reply Milly but I don't think it helps me. Maybe my
phraseology was not clear.
I know that Office Outlook and Outlook Express are two different programs.
My query was - In Outlook Express you could create a rule not to download
certain emails. I am now using Office Outlook as my main email program but
would still like to create a rule not to download certain emails but leave
them on the server. Caon Office Outlook do this?

Nope. Outlook always downloads.

And, by the way, so does OE - the only way to get the content of the
message in order to apply the rule is to download it. The only question is
whether it shows up in the inbox...
