At the follow microsoft website,

or appears to state that Outlook 2003 will support instant messenger.
Granted there are listed a couple of services that need to be running for
this. Are the services running on the Exchange Server or on the clients
computer? Also I was under the impression that this option was removed with
Server 2003 version and that you would have to purchase Live Communicator
2005 in order to do this? I have gone through the steps listed from
Microsoft's website regarding instant messenger via Outlook 2003 and do not
see the option to send an instant message.
