This is the message I get when trying to send a message. Receiving messages
are fine...this started today. I can go to website of cable company and send
and receive fine. I've done registry update, restore and nothing seems to
help. Any suggestions?????

Is krausonline.com the cable company or are you using the cable company to get
online but using another ISP/hosting company's mail server?

If the latter, it may be that the cable company has decided to insist that
outbound mail be sent only through their own mail servers. It's a fairly common
thing.

If that fits, try changing Outlook's settings to use your cable company's SMTP
server (outgoing mail). Or check with the existing ISP to see if their mail
server responds to alternate ports. Many do.

The cable company is how I get online and also my ISP and I can go to their
website and SEND and receive mail...so I know it is an outlook 2003 problem.
I have used this same ISP for over 5 years and this problem only started
yesterday.

Any other suggestions??

I'd check with them to see if they've changed anything re their SMTP setup.

If you haven't altered your settings, something somwhere must've changed.

Many ISPs have stopped using Port 25 as the SMTP server and have changed it.
Check with your ISP web site for their current server setup directions.

Hello Milly -

ISP did not change anything on their server end. As of this morning, I can
send email to myself and I can send email to several of my hotmail contacts,
but I still cannot reply or send new mail to my contacts other than hotmail
contacts in Outlook. Any other suggestions or causes for this to happen?

Now I'm back to nothing being able to send out. The ISP has their own
website where I can log in and email is sent fine from there....Outlook is
where the problem is originating and I've even uninstalled and reinstalled
and nothing seems to be working! I can't figure this out. Any other
suggestions would be helpful!

GOT IT!!! I has to do with spam mail with the ISP...it makes the server
freeze up at your ISP because of new spam that is being sent with blank
subject and blank text....Let your ISP provider know.
